I dress sexy. I love to. And I have my reasons.
Men, you’re on the list, but probably not where you were hoping…
First, I do it for myself.
I like choosing the outfit. I like how it looks. I like that last glance in the mirror before I leave. Sometimes I’ll put something on and think, damn, I look fantastic. That’s a perfectly good reason to wear it.
Second, I’m fit. And I work hard at it.
I enjoy being in shape. And sometimes I enjoy wearing something that shows it. I’m 46 and look great in a crop top. Yeah, I feel good about that. And I don’t feel the need to keep that information entirely to myself.
Third, to make other women a little envious.
Yes. I said it. I appreciate a woman I find attractive who looks amazing. And occasionally, I’d like to be the woman who makes her think, Damn. Okay. A little vain? Perhaps. We’re being honest here.
And finally, men.
Yes, I like being noticed by a man I find attractive. That can be fun. But look how much came before you.
Somewhere along the way, a woman dressing sexy became a story about what she wanted from men. Their attention. Their approval. Their opinions about what she should be wearing.
Meanwhile, I was getting dressed because I liked the dress.
You can find me attractive without assuming you’re the reason I look this way. Respect doesn’t depend on how much skin I’ve covered.
So yes, men. You made the list.
Enjoy the outfit. Just remember who I put it on for first.
