How To Start The First Flirt

If you like her, send her a hint in your first texts or meeting. But take it slowly. Compliment. Don’t be sexual. And don’t let her feel you’re already in love.

Sometimes that first flirt arrives as too forward or inappropriate. You’re interested. That’s good. But start with a little of that interest and give her somewhere to meet you.

You don’t have to wait until you’re certain she likes you. A warm, simple compliment is a safe place to start.

GOOD: “I’ve really enjoyed chatting with you. I like your upbeat personality.”

There. A little interest. Now give her room to answer.

NOT GOOD: “It was nice to meet you. You’re super hot.”

This can be seen as too forward and has the potential of making her think you are only interested in having a sexual relationship. If that’s all she wants too, she will let you know. But if you like her, don’t do this in this way.

Let’s focus on the good example. Maybe she tells you what she’s noticed about you too. Maybe she teases you a little. The conversation starts to feel different because you’re both adding something to it. Now you’re both confident.

That’s when you can build on it. You don’t need to jump from a compliment to something sexual. There’s plenty of fun in letting a little anticipation build.

If she keeps her reply friendly, keep yours friendly, too. You’ve shown interest. Let her decide what she wants to share back.

You don’t need the perfect line. Say something you mean. See how she responds.

She might be sitting there smiling at her phone. Just try not to make her cringe. Keep it casual and just a little flirty at first. And always stay respectful.
